Reason 90 to Flip NC
BECAUSE NC SHOULDN’T HAVE THE WORST UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS IN THE U.S.
In 2013, the NC GOP used their supermajorities in the state legislature to enact a “radical reduction in the generosity” of North Carolina’s unemployment insurance program, making it the least generous in the entire country. NC’s average weekly benefit ranks dead last, and the duration of benefits ranks 49th. Remarkably, in 2019, fewer than 10% of jobless people in North Carolina received unemployment benefits. The extreme stinginess of the state’s unemployment program has made life extremely difficult for those displaced from work during the pandemic, many of whom are set to stop receiving benefits by the end of the July.

New Rules for Absentee Voting
Another new voting rules alert! Mail-in (absentee) ballots will now have a barcode on them so that you can track its receipt back to your Board of Elections office and see whether it’s been accepted or not! This is an important new feature because, in the past, folks never knew if their vote counted when using vote-by-mail.
This new barcode tracking feature not only tracks if your vote was counted — but also if there are issues with your ballot (ex: signing in the wrong place) so that you can fix it!
Donate HERE We’re looking at making electoral history this year in Alamance. Join us as we raise money for our first ever ACDP billboard. We’re almost half of the way to our goal already! Please chip-in! We’d like to secure funding for this as soon as possible.
The ACDP Marketing Committee the has been working to develop a strategy that we believe will raise the profile of Alamance Democrats and help us get the voter turnout we have to get. The Marketing Committee has selected a design that we feel captures who we are and what we value. We’ve got a billboard located on Interstate 40/85 between Exits 145 and 147 picked out that we think will allow us to reach as many potential 2020 voters as possible. now all we need to do is raise some money! Our goal is to fund the entire cost of the $3400 billboard through your generous donations. Please consider donating to this fund, as we believe we have a solid plan to make your dollars reach the most voters and potential voters possible. We’ve been too quiet it’s time to make some noise! Give Your Time at Election Time.
Wondering what you can do to help ensure local elections meet the challenges of this health crisis?
Finding election workers is always a challenge and in this election the civic-minded seniors that usually fill these positions should get to sit this one out if they have health concerns. Early Voting workers especially work long days and a couple of long weeks. So if you want more weekend hours for Alamance County voters, giving your time to staff those hours is a great way to help. Also, these are paid positions. More Information HERE
